Presence. Not Volume.
Where It Started
In 2006, founder Mat — a womenswear designer who had worked in New York and Milan — returned to the UK and spotted a gap. Men's underwear in Britain was boring. The good stuff existed, but nobody was bringing it here.
"The first order was £200 worth of underwear, sold from a bedroom on eBay. It sold out in a week."
A second order of £400 followed immediately. From that start, Bang & Strike grew into one of the UK's leading premium men's underwear destinations — a market leader that helped define the category before the category had a name.
First to Bring the Best
At a time when designer men's underwear barely existed as a retail category in Britain, Bang & Strike built it. We were among the very first UK retailers to introduce brands that went on to define the market globally — bringing them to British men before anyone else was paying attention.
Andrew Christian. Rufskin. N2N Bodywear. Addicted. Teamm8. Pump! — all introduced to the UK through Bang & Strike. Alongside them, a premium edit spanning Calvin Klein, Diesel, Emporio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, DSquared2 and Tommy Hilfiger.
"We didn't follow the market. We built it."
Stepping Back to See Clearly
After years at the front of the market, we made a deliberate choice to step back. The category we'd helped build had become crowded — oversupplied, copied, and increasingly driven by volume over vision. We'd seen it from the inside and knew what it looked like when passion became noise.
"Sometimes the most considered move is to stop, look, and come back with a clearer eye."
So that's what we did. And what we came back with is a sharper sense of who we are, who our customer is, and what the market actually needs right now.
A Different Time. A Different Edit.
Something has shifted. Men — particularly gay men and men who've shed the old scripts around masculinity and sexuality — are moving differently. More confident. Less performative. The energy is about feeling good in your own skin, not announcing it to the room.
That's the man we're dressing. And that's the lens through which we've rebuilt the Bang & Strike range — sport-influenced, tonal, body-confident. Underwear with genuine presence that doesn't need to shout to be felt.
We're selectively expanding the brands we carry — looking for labels that share the same outlook. Few. Considered. Right.
"Kicking back, feeling empowered and sexy. Doing it quietly."

Strike Pro — Built by Us
Strike Pro is our flagship own-label collection. Performance fabrics, athletic fits, clean branding — everything we've learned across two decades distilled into underwear designed and developed by us. Premium quality at a price that doesn't require justification.

Independent Since 2006
We don't chase volume or flood the site with product. Every brand we stock, every piece we develop, is held to the same standard: does it belong in the wardrobe of a man who knows exactly who he is?
Bang & Strike remains proudly independent — no parent company, no investor pressure, no obligation to anyone except the men we dress.
"We started it because we believed men deserved better. Twenty years later, we still do."
